Welcome back to the 2025 College Football Playoff Resume Rankings!
It’s time for the Week 13 CFP Committee Rankings reveal after another action-packed week of football! There has been a lot of movement in the Resume Rankings, but will any of that translate to the committee rankings, or will the humans in the room hold onto evaluations from prior weeks? The pattern has often been to come to the same conclusion about each team until there is an unexpected loss or win that yields meaningful change. This week’s rankings again feel relatively cut and dry with only a few questions to answer. Let’s jump right into our rankings and see what has changed.
Week 13 CFP Resume Rankings

Week 13 Movers:
Oregon takes a step forward! The Ducks picked up a strong win over USC, and the committee moved Oregon up 1 spot. On resume? Oregon is up from #8 to #4! Oregon’s resume has been carried by their team strength, which meant that a boost in raw resume would send Oregon well up in the rankings. The computers still think highly of USC and that win was a huge boost to the resume.
Oklahoma also benefitted from a quality win this weekend with the victory over Missouri, jumping from #10 to #7 in the resume rankings. Oklahoma experienced no change in the committee rankings.
BYU took 2 steps forward on overall resume, now in the CFP via At Large bid per our resume rankings at the expense of Ole Miss, who has fallen from #7 to #11. #6 Texas Tech also falls on overall resume to #10 as the last team in our playoffs ahead of the Rebels.
Vanderbilt takes a step ahead of Utah, and both teams move forward after the USC loss to Oregon, though neither team is on the right side of the CFP bubble at the moment.

Instant Analysis
Question: Will Oregon take a step forward after a quality win over USC?
Answer: Yes! Oregon does step ahead of Ole Miss in the committee rankings, though maybe not far enough according to their overall resume strength. Our data suggests Oregon could have climbed as high as #4 this week.
Question: Will Utah fall further back from the bubble after a shaky win over Kansas State?
Answer: Yes, the Utes fell behind Miami in the rankings and are a step further removed from the CFP bubble. Utah probably needs help to get to the Big 12 title game if they want to make the CFP, as an At Large bid could be unlikely.
Question: Will Michigan break ahead of USC?
Answer: Yes! Michigan now has an opportunity to jump well ahead in the rankings should they beat #1 Ohio State this coming weekend. Is there a chance the Wolverines make the CFP at 10-2? It’s possible!
Question: Will Miami close the gap on Notre Dame?
Answer: Yes, Miami has closed the gap, however it appears the Alabama/BYU buffer remains a barrier. The committee believes Notre Dame is better than those two teams, and that Miami is not. For that reason, head-to-head has not been leveraged in the committee rankings.
Question: Is Tulane still alone in the G5 as a ranked team?
Answer: Yes, Tulane at #24 remains the lone G5 ranked team. Our resume data has Tulane, North Texas, South Florida, and James Madison, in that order, sitting between #33 and #36. Tulane is likely over ranked by the committee at the moment giving the appearance that they are a clear step ahead of the other G5 contenders.
Top 10 Unexpected Results of the Season

There were no new Top 10 upsets this week, with Wisconsin’s upset over Illinois only registering 34th on the season. UAB over Memphis in week 8 remains supreme, though the Syracuse upset over Clemson in week 4 has closed the gap thanks to the Notre Dame blowout over the Orange. Here’s to hoping a week 14 game finds the list!
Week 14 Game of the Week
CFP No. 19 Tennessee vs CFP No. 14 Vanderbilt:
This is tricky to understand given that we have both #16 Texas hosting #3 Texas A&M and #15 Michigan hosting #1 Ohio State. Both of those games are huge rivalry games that our computers can’t understand when setting spreads, so if those games are closer in margin than what we project, they easily stand ahead of Tennessee/Vanderbilt. Currently, we have the 7th strongest team (Texas A&M) favored by 3 to win on the road at the 18th strongest team (Texas). We also have the strongest team (Ohio State) projected to win by 12 on the road against the 17th strongest team (Michigan). Tennessee rates as the 16th strongest team, and with home field advantage projects to beat Vanderbilt, our 14th strongest team, by 0.5 points. When our game quality metric balances the quality of the teams playing and the projected outcome, this rivalry game scores a small margin ahead of both of those games.
