Welcome back to the 2025 College Football Playoff Resume Rankings!
It’s time for the Week 11 CFP Committee Rankings reveal after another action-packed week of football! There has been a lot of movement in the Resume Rankings, but will any of that translate to the committee rankings, or will the humans in the room hold onto evaluations from prior weeks? The pattern has often been to come to the same conclusion about each team until there is an unexpected loss or win that yields meaningful change. This week’s rankings feel relatively cut and dry with only a few questions to answer, but that doesn’t mean the committee can’t throw us a curveball. There are several resumes that merit discussion that are disconnected from last week’s committee rankings. Let’s jump right into our rankings and see what has changed.
Week 11 CFP Resume Rankings

Week 11 Movers:
Texas Tech and Oregon are the big risers, both jumping Ole Miss on overall resume after meaningful wins over BYU and Iowa. Both teams sat behind Ole Miss in last week’s committee rankings, and in a fresh assessment of the season both should find themselves stepping a spot ahead in the rankings at the Rebels’ expense.
Vanderbilt needed overtime to beat Auburn, and USC dispatched Northwestern, but both wins were good enough to elevate their resumes past the likes of Texas and Utah, who were on byes this past weekend.
Arizona State remains the team with the highest rated overall resume that we expect to not show up in the committee rankings (writing this ahead of the ranking release), currently sitting at #18 on overall resume. Staying in the Big 12, Iowa State is our first 4-loss team to crack the resume Top 25, with the continued rise of Texas Tech further bolstering the Cyclone resume.
The biggest fallers this week were Louisville and Virginia, both of whom took an unexpected loss over the weekend and saw resume decline as a result. Expect Miami to be the benefactor, likely released from their head-to-head loss to Louisville in the coming rankings.

Instant Analysis
Question: Will BYU fall behind one or both of Texas and Oklahoma?
Answer: Yes! It's not aligned with the resume data, but the committee did punish BYU for a substandard performance against Texas Tech this past weekend. The CFP path is still alive though despite the ranking.
Question: How far will Virginia and Louisville fall, and will Miami jump ahead of both?
Answer: Miami DOES jump Virginia and Louisville, and jumps Georgia Tech to boot. The Notre Dame over Miami over Louisville when all are 2-loss teams does seem like a head scratcher, but it is supported by the resume data!
Question: Can Texas Tech and Oregon make headway against the 1-loss SEC teams?
Answer: Texas Tech, yes! Oregon, no! Both teams could have jumped Ole Miss following top 25 wins, but only the Red Raiders managed to slide forward in the rankings.
Question: Can USC or Michigan close the gap to Utah?
Answer: Yes! Though not by a ton. The Big Ten duo slid ahead of falling ACC teams and are a step closer, but more help is needed to get into the At Large picture ahead of the Utes at 10-2.
Question: Who will come through the Group of 5 assessment? Is USF back in the driver seat or will teams like James Madison or North Texas enter the CFP picture?
Answer: USF not only is in the driver seat, but the Bulls have entered the Top 25! This gap will be challenging to close for other G5 teams, who probably need a sub-par American team to win the conference to open a path for another conference champ to make the CFP.

Top 11 Unexpected Results of the Season

While the top several upsets of the season remained largely unchanged, week 11 brought two new entries to the Top 10. Louisville’s shock upset to Cal, severely damaging the Cardinals’ CFP chances, registers as the 7th worst upset of the season to date. Coming in 9th place is the Sam Houston upset over Oregon State, a result so shocking that Oregon State’s interim head coach was relieved from the job. Florida State continues to be the only team both on the winning and losing end of a Top 10 upset for the season.
Week 12 Game of the Week
No. 5 Georgia vs No. 10 Texas:
Week 12 leads us to a pair of high-profile SEC games to lead the schedule. Just barely surpassing the Crimson Bowl (Alabama vs Oklahoma), the Georgia Bulldogs look to remain in the committee Top 5 against the Texas Longhorns, who we have as a 5.5-point underdog. This is a huge game for a Texas team with 2-losses already on the calendar and unbeaten Texas A&M yet to come. If Texas can split these two games and work their way to 9-3, they may have a shot at the last At Large CFP bid, but if they lose both they are out for sure. Georgia meanwhile would have a pretty good chance of making the CFP at 10-2, but likewise has another tough game to come in the season finale against a good Georgia Tech team. The stakes are similar in Alabama vs Oklahoma; however, both of those teams have lighter schedules still to come, meaning for Oklahoma this game is a must win, but maybe doesn’t carry the same urgency for the Crimson Tide.
